NEW YEAR, NEW WAYS OF DOING BUSINESS
2008 - already?
As another year begins it allows us to reevaluate
our past and plan for the future. It doesn't matter whether we are
looking at our personal lives, family lives or business lives.
We may believe that change is unnecessary in many aspects, however
if we ask our family, friends and customers we may find that there
are definite things that can be changed for the better.
Obviously, we are no different than our customers and
are planning several changes during the coming year. Some of
these changes will be apparent in the manner in which we do
business. Other changes will be less obvious to our customers
but enable us to serve you better by providing new products,
services and support. |

benefit for us are the local groups that work in the industries that
we support. For us these include the New Hampshire Restaurant
and Hospitality, New Hampshire Grocers, Vermont Grocers, Maine
Hospitality, Massachusetts Retail Association and a few specialty
groups. Check out organizations in your own area. The
support and information you receive along with industry discounts
simply for being a member make these pay for themselves in a short

| Security Quick Tips |
| Two Tips for you to think about the next time you are
closing up your business for the night. At the end I will tell
you why you might want to follow these tips.
1. After you have Cashed out your drawer for the evening and
taken the money to the back office or prepared your deposit, LEAVE
THE CASH DRAWER OPEN a few inches.
2. When closing up for the evening, check out the restrooms
completely. This means opening stall doors and checking behind
the door.
In case number 1 a customer of ours in California was in the
habit of closing the Cash Drawer every time they took the till out
for the evening. Their register was visible from the street
through the front window. One evening they had a
break-in. The burglars forced the Cash Register drawer open
breaking the lock, only to discover that it was empty. The
fortunate part was that the drawer was empty and no cash was
taken. The unfortunate part was that it cost them $150.00 to
replace the drawer that could have been prevented if the drawer had
been left open.
In case number 2, we had a customer who was awakened in the
middle of the night by the local police who reported that his alarms
inside the building were going off however they were unable to find
any open point of entry and assumed that it was a technical system
error. When the owner arrived with the Police behind him, they
discover a man sitting at the bar drinking. He had hidden
himself in a Stall by crouching on tip of the toilet until
everyone was gone for the night.
The point here is that you can only change the outcome by
changing the way you deal with things first. Do you

| POS SOFTWARE UPDATES AND NEW
RELEASES |
 There have been several updates and
changes to the Point of Sale Software packages that we
install. This is a brief overview. For more information
please call your Account Manager Mark or Sherry at 877-627-0636.
SALON IRIS and 123 PET New Version 7.0.4 was
released 2 weeks ago. So many new features that we recommend
that everyone consider upgrading their systems Insure that
your hardware meets the minimum specs.
- ALDELO for Restaurants Professional has
released Version 3.8.9 as a FREE Upgrade to all Aldelo or NextPOS
customers. Please be advised that there are hardware and credit
card requirements that also must be met to insure your system will
run correctly after the upgrade. Do not attempt the upgrade
without first speaking with us.
ALDELO for Restaurants has released the long
awaited 'FINANCIAL INTEGRATION' module which works with QuickBooks
and PayChex Services. This is a FREE add-on for all Aldelo
customers on a current support contract and can not be purchased
separately. Please contact us at 877-627-0636 to see if you are
eligible. You must also be on version 3.8 for the
integration.
24/7 Support Contract pricing for ALDELO is increasing by
$100.00 per site Jan. 1st. 2008
Cash Register Express and Restaurant Pro
Enterprise versions were both released to version 11.5 in
November. This current version used SQL database and is not a
direct upgrade. To move to Version 11.5 you must be on a
service contract and also have your database converted from Access
to SQL at a one time charge of $150.00
Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for both RMS V.2
and POS V. 2. This adds several security fixes and
other patches rolled into a one time upgrade. Contact us at
877-627-0636 for more information. Also a quick heads up that
Version 3.0 for both RMS and POS will be released First Quarter
2008. All customers who are on a current maintenance agreement
are eligible for the new version when it is released.
MICROSOFT MAINTENANCE Contract now includes 6 Service Incidents
for all new and existing customers under contract as of Dec. 1st,
