 HAVE YOU GOTTEN YOUR GIFT CARD'S YET? How much did you loose in potential sales this past holiday season? Gift and Loyalty programs are two of the fastest ways to grow your business and increase customer return visits. Both Retail and Hospitality benefit from those magic pieces of plastic. We all know the expense involved in finding new customers. But how do we keep those customers coming back? It doesn't matter whether you are in RETAIL or HOSPITALITY the same logic applies. Industry estimates that a large number of Gift Cards are never redeemed. They end up in drawers, glovebox, collecting dust on a bedside stand or simply get lost. This is revenue that will not be redeemed. Each state varies in how this is reported. But as an example - WAL-MART's sales of Gift Cards is growing at a rate of 3-5% annually. That means they have to come back, or who they give the card too, will be visiting your store or restaurant. Many folks are confused by the terms used in scanner descriptions. A Linear scanner scans the bar code image from top to bottom and come in a variety of specs. An Omni scanner not only scans from top to bottom, but also corner to corner using up to 8 seperate beams to view the image.
There is a wide difference in the quality and performace of scanners. An Omni scanner is best for Retail where you are dealing with curved or smaller tags because of the precision. A Linear scanner works great for general retail dealing with flat bar codes lables. If in doubt as to the best solution for your needs, ask us and we can help.

 Microsoft wants to know if you are ready for 'VISTA' - however the real questions are much deeper. Is your computer based system ready for 'VISTA'? Does your Point of Sale software support 'VISTA'? Not every software program or hardware platform out there is 'VISTA READY'. So beware before you rush out to buy the upgrade that will be available from your local store. By loading 'VISTA' on your system without first asking the right questions could end up costing you more than an upgrade license. You could loose the functionality of your entire system.
